Steel Locking Collars

A steel collar is worn at the throat and worn longest, so it is the piece worth choosing most carefully — and the one where cheap alloys and vague specifications do the most harm. Every collar here is machined from 304 stainless steel, closes on a lock built into the band rather than a padlock swinging at the front, and is sized for men's or women's necks rather than a single universal circumference.

The range covers three deliberate tiers. The slim Eclipse reads as jewellery in daylight and passes unremarked in company. The Sovereign is the everyday flat-band collar: real substance, no strain. The Regent is the heavy statement piece — a wide band you feel with every breath, meant for the days that mean it. Many people end up owning two: one that disappears, one that does not.

Choosing well comes down to four things — how it locks, how heavy it is, how it fits, and how it reads out of the house. We walk through all four in the guides below, including how to measure so a wrong size is still exchangeable, and why "nickel-free" is usually marketing rather than metallurgy.
